Major Slack rival Microsoft Teams ran into a bit of a snag yesterday. According to Microsoft they failed to renew it’s authentication certificate. That’s right, one of the largest companies in the world can’t remember to renew its authentication certificate!
The tool was down for roughly three hours of pure pandemonium as Microsoft developers rushed to get the tool back online. By around 9 a.m. PT Monday, the service was back up for most users though the issue wasn’t fully resolved until later in the day.

This is a huge setback for a new platform competing in a David and Goliath type of market in respect to its competition Slack.
